Northern Nigeria is known for her rich agricultural resources. Kaduna is the host location of Olam processing facilities, Afex Commodity Exchange, Tomato Jos, Matrix Fertilizer, Illaj Agro and a host of other Agro-allied manufacturing and trade companies within the state attest to the competitive advantage of the region. Some of the abundant Agro commodities with local and international demand potentials include rice, soyabean, maize, ginger, cotton, tomatoes, bell pepper, cabbage, sesame, millet, sorghum, and cowpea.

The GEZ is positioned to be Northern Nigeria’s Agro-processing, storage, and export hub.

Northern Nigeria is also very rich in mineral resources with significant deposits of lithium, gold, zinc, tantalum, diamond, copper, cobalt, nickel, silver, cassiterite, manganese, tin, molybdenum, vanadium, zircon sand, baryte, iron, columbite, lead and gemstones like sapphire, ruby, aquamarine, emerald, tourmaline, topaz, garnet, amethyst; zircon, and fluorspar which are among the world’s best.

With the GEZ FTZ status and logistics infrastructure, it is envisaged to become the leading mineral local and international trading hub for the region.
